The Tattooist of Auschwitz

Hello, my loves!

I hope you are all doing well.

I cannot tell you how happy I am that I've created a schedule for myself where I can dedicate a decent amount of time to read every day. It has been a fantastic way to destress after a crazy day.

I've started a new book rating system for the blog. Instead of how many stars I'd give the book, I figured I'd use beers.

Speaking of beers, you can help support the blog by clicking on the Buy Me a Coffee and donating! All money received goes towards my blogging and podcasting! You can also become a member and gain access to free citations, digital products and more!

Now, let's get to the book, shall we?

I originally purchased this book in 2019 when I went shopping for Christmas gifts, and I never read it until now.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a biographic novel written by Heather Morris and based on the time Lale Sokolov spent in Auschwitz.

The heartwrenching tale details how Lale was transported by livestock train to Auschwitz with other Jews and witnessed a fellow prisoner murdered by SS officers. During his time at the camp, he witnessed gassing and did whatever he could to survive. He became the apprentice for the camp Tattooist, responsible for tattooing the numbers on everyone's arms.

This story provides us with a glimpse into the life of someone who survived a horrible period in our world's history with a love story that made my dark heart melt.

So... How many beers?
